I’m a jeans and a T-shirt kind of gal. But even when I need to kick it up a notch, I stick with “classic” pieces and then layer on fun accessories to give a little glam. My style in a nutshell: classic with a little glam even for holiday event decorating.
So as you are considering what pieces to dig out of the storage room this season – let me give you a little glimpse into how I Simplify with Style when it comes to holiday event decorating.
Again I keep it SIMPLE.
My event styling and decorations for the holidays is centered around two things.
- Classic serving wear, styled with some fun theme items.
- Basic table linens with centerpieces that highlight the event style.
It might take you a while to figure this out, but when you do it makes things simpler.
Easy yet styled. Simple yet polished.
That’s what my Simplify With Style Event Process is centered around.
GLAM UP AN OUTFIT
In your closet, this might look like various solid colored T’s (in neutral colors of course), and crisp white sneakers. Pointed black or leopard print flats (because leopard print is neutral). Making it an elevated style means adding in big earrings or a cotton sweater blazer or a headband.
Walla – you just went from classic to GLAM!
GLAM UP A CLASSIC EVENT
The same goes for your events!
Classic could look like white linen tablecloths or runners, white dishware, large white serving bowls, and wood platters.
But when you GLAM it up you can elevate a basic tablescape with tapered candles, cake stands, rattan chargers and grey+white striped napkins.
Voila – you went from classic to GLAM! …again!
INVEST IN CLASSIC PIECES FOR HOLIDAY DECORATING
Investing in classic pieces and timeless glam “accessories” – whether for your closet or your table, will make it easy to go from classic to glam in a flash.
For your wardrobe this means throwing on that blazer with your T-shirt, swapping out the sneakers for the flats, which can take you from day to night.
As we get ready for the holidays, it’s just as easy to take your classic table set to holiday glam with just a few switches.
I suggest adding a holiday salad plate or linen napkin with themed centerpieces.
But remember, every element of your table doesn’t have to be transformed for the season for it to make an impact.
Mix your classic with your {holiday} accessories for an easy yet elevated style!
